Key Takeaways
- Polymarket bettors give bitcoin a 73% shot at tagging $85,000 before 2026 wraps up.
- Kalshi’s $35M market sees BTC near $81,000, so traders aren’t buying the mega-pump hype.
- Myriad leans toward BTC hitting $84,000, while Kalshi gives $100,000 a solid 83% shot.
Prediction Markets Still See a Shaky, Sideways Road Ahead
Over the last day, bitcoin’s price has traded between $78,700 to $79,600, and the value is still up 22% over the last 30 days. Alongside this, the betting sentiment is volatile but also slightly cautious on Polymarket when it comes to where BTC’s valuation will land by the year’s end. Wagerers do believe bitcoin’s price has a good chance of making a meaningful move in either direction, and at press time, there’s a 73% chance of BTC reaching $85,000 by the end of 2026.
As of Monday, approximately $63.92 million in betting volume on the Polymarket event “What price will bitcoin hit in 2026?” has been recorded so far. Bettors think $90,000 per bitcoin will be more of a coin-flip chance (51%), and $100,000 is priced at 26% at the time of writing. Once you get into the six-figure range, the odds fall off a cliff. For instance, $120,000 per BTC stands at 10%, and $150,000 is just 3% today.
Meanwhile, targets of $200,000 and above per bitcoin are sitting around 1% or less. Downside bets have better chances as $70,000 per BTC is also in the coin-flip realm of 52%, while $75,000 stands at 74% and is closer to today’s price range. Bets on $65,000 stand at 35%, and there’s a 25% chance that BTC could tap $60,000 by the year’s end. $50,000 through $30,000 per bitcoin have odds between 15% to 4% for the $30,000 pick.
Kalshi Bettors Cluster Around the $81,000 Mark
Over on Kalshi, $35 million has been bet on the end of year bitcoin price prediction market dubbed “bitcoin price at the end of 2026.” Sentiment today is fairly neutral with some bullish flare. Still, Kalshi wagerers are not betting on a massive breakout by the end of the year. The overall forecast stands at around $81,000, with the highest visible probabilities concentrated in the mid-to-upper $70,000s and low $80,000s.
The $75,000 to $79,999 range carries a 12.5% chance, while $80,000 to $84,999 is close behind at 11.9%, compared with 9.9% for $70,000 to $74,999. Higher-end price points on Kalshi are way more skeptical around the $95,000 zone. The $90,000 to $94,999 range, for instance, carries a 7.7% probability, followed by 5.6% for $95,000 to $99,999 and just 3.7% for $100,000 to $104,999. Traders seem comfortable with bitcoin ending around $80,000, but there is no obvious sign of aggressive bullishness in higher price predictions.
Pump or Dump Markets Lean Heavily Bullish
The betting sentiment on the prediction marketplace Myriad remains decisively bullish. The event called “BTC next move: Pump to $84K or Dump to $55K?” shows bettors heavily favor the $84,000 range hitting before suffering a drop to $55,000. At press time, traders are pricing the bullish outcome at roughly five times the probability of the bearish one. This market is much smaller, though, compared to the millions wagered over on the prediction markets Kalshi or Polymarket, with Myriad’s BTC pump or dump event clocking $235,000 in volume.

A similar market on Kalshi called “Will BTC hit $50,000 before $100,000?” has logged $831,848 in volume, and betting is clearly tilted toward the upside. As of Sept. 7, Kalshi bettors give the chance of BTC hitting $50,000 an 18% chance. Hitting $100,000 is more favorable with an 83% chance. Both Kalshi and Myriad markets combined represent a pretty strong rejection of the idea that bitcoin is headed for a major collapse before rising higher. The issue with Myriad’s event is that it has a tighter bitcoin price high at $84,000, and current prices are pretty close to that position.
Real Money Isn’t Buying the Massive Rally Narrative
Despite the two pump or dump events, prediction markets are adding more caution than your favorite crypto influencer might suggest. Real money is on the line, and money that doesn’t seem convinced that BTC is going to see another major rally or new all-time high in 2026. In fact, the overall sentiment from prediction market bettors is a pretty boring sideways trading adventure, of course, with some skips and beats along the way. We don’t know exactly where bitcoin’s price will be by the end of the year, but one thing is certain: some of these bets will pay off, while most will ultimately miss the mark.
