Let me tell you about a number that should stop you cold. Biconomy’s token reached an all-time high above $21 in the last cycle. This summer it printed an all-time low near one cent. That is a decline of roughly 99.9%, which is not a drawdown, it is an obituary. And yet here it sits at the top of the trending list, up more than 40% in a day and something over 100% on the week, with more people looking at it than at almost anything else in crypto. Dead things are not supposed to move. So what is this, and what is actually happening?
Biconomy (BICO) appears at $0.05116 on CoinGecko’s trending board as of August 7, 2026, up 40.8% over 24 hours, ranking first on trending and near the top of most viewed. Verify the live figure before acting; readings for this token have varied sharply between sources and hours, which is itself a symptom of what follows.
What Biconomy actually builds
Strip away the ticker and there is a real engineering problem underneath.
Using a blockchain application has traditionally required a small ritual of pain. You need the native token to pay gas before you can do anything. Every step of a multi-part action needs its own signature and its own fee. Lose the seed phrase and everything is gone. For anyone who is not already crypto-native, this is where onboarding goes to die.
Biconomy’s business is removing that ritual. Its infrastructure lets applications sponsor gas so a user never has to hold the native token, bundle several operations into a single transaction, and use smart accounts, wallets that behave like programmable software rather than a single fragile key. In industry language this category is account abstraction, and Biconomy has been one of its more visible builders since long before it was fashionable, including contributions toward standards work on Ethereum aimed at collapsing many steps into one.
That description is worth holding onto because it is genuinely useful technology that plenty of applications need. It is also, and this is the whole tension of this article, almost entirely disconnected from what happened to the price this week.
Why is BICO up, honestly
No confirmed catalyst is visible in the data. What is visible are three mechanisms, and none of them are about smart accounts.
A squeeze. Reported liquidation data around the recent move showed short positions taking larger losses than longs, the signature of traders betting against a dead token and getting run over. Squeezes are real moves made of forced buying, and forced buying stops when the shorts are gone.
A base so low that percentages lie. When a token trades near one cent after falling 99.9%, a move of a fraction of a cent is a headline number. Doubling from a corpse is arithmetically easy and emotionally convincing, which is a dangerous combination.
Attention feeding itself. Trending placement pulls in viewers, some viewers buy, the move extends, the placement holds. This is a loop, not a thesis, and this site has documented the same attention-versus-price gap on several tokens this summer, usually shortly before the loop unwinds.
There is a fourth possibility that deserves naming without asserting: prior rallies in this token have been attributed by market commentators to whale accumulation rather than any announcement. Large wallets moving in a thin market can produce exactly this shape. Nobody outside those wallets knows their intent.
The One Number That Matters
Concentration. Reported on-chain holder data around this rally described an extraordinarily concentrated supply, with the top one hundred wallets holding the overwhelming majority of tokens and a Gini coefficient close to one, essentially the maximum possible reading for inequality of ownership.
If that figure holds up under verification, and any reader should verify it on the token contract before risking money, it reframes everything above. A rally in a token where a hundred wallets control nearly all the supply is not a market reaching a conclusion. It is a small number of people deciding what the price is, in a venue where everyone else is a passenger. The upside is that such tokens can move violently on modest buying. The downside is the identical sentence with one word changed.
There is a documented behavioral precedent that makes this more than theoretical. Reports from May of this year described team wallets unstaking and moving a large block of BICO to an exchange near a local price high. Depositing to an exchange is not proof of selling, and it should not be stated as such. But it is the specific pattern that responsible holders watch for, and it happened once already in this token’s recent history.
What is genuinely in BICO’s favor
Two things, and they are not small.
No unlock overhang. BICO’s vesting schedule concluded, meaning there is no pending cliff waiting to dump supply into a rally. After the month this site has spent covering unlock shadows over Hyperliquid, Arbitrum and Ondo, a token with that calendar behind it rather than ahead of it starts from a cleaner place. Our token unlock guide explains why that matters more than most headlines suggest.
A real product in a real category. Account abstraction is not a narrative someone invented last quarter; it is a durable requirement for consumer crypto applications to work, and Biconomy has shipped in that category for years with recognized standards contributions. The company existing and the token performing are different questions, but plenty of trending tokens cannot even claim the first one.
The honest risks
The 99.9% is not a coincidence. A token does not lose that much value by accident. Whatever combination of tokenomics, competition and market indifference produced it has not obviously been repaired by a good week.
Value capture is unresolved, the same question this site puts to Uniswap, Arbitrum and every other infrastructure token. Applications using Biconomy’s technology do not automatically create demand for BICO, and until that link is clear and measurable, the token is a bet on the sector’s mood rather than on the company’s success.
Liquidity and concentration cut both ways, as described above.
And the timing risk is immediate. Anyone reading this article is arriving after a 40% day and a triple-digit week. The people who bought a week ago are now deciding whether to sell to the people reading now. That sentence is true of every trending token and it is worth writing plainly every single time.
Bottom Line
Biconomy is a legitimate infrastructure company whose token was left for dead, and this week it moved like a defibrillator was applied: a squeeze, a microscopic base, and a crowd arriving to watch. The technology is real, the vesting overhang is genuinely behind it, and the concentration profile is the thing that should determine your position size more than any chart pattern. If you are buying, know precisely what you are buying: not a stake in account abstraction adoption, but a lottery ticket in a very thin room, at a price set by a very small number of people. Learn the difference before the crowd teaches it to you.
