XRP Asia Connects Builders Across the Region
Developers and startups across Asia-Pacific are getting a dedicated organization to build on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). XRP Asia launched with backing from Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation, a nonprofit supporting the network, according to XRP Asia’s launch announcement shared on X on Oct. 3.
The organization described the regional rationale in its launch statement:
“The creation of XRP Asia comes as XRPL is gaining significant momentum globally and ecosystem support needs are growing. This is also an acknowledgement of the strategic significance of the region, home to key digital asset markets and builder hubs.”
Sabrina Tachdjian leads the group after serving as vice president of fintech and payments at the Hedera Foundation, which promotes network adoption. She previously headed blockchain investments at messaging company LINE.
Headquartered in Singapore, the initiative will build on XRPL Korea and XRPL Japan while establishing communities in other Asian cities. It aims to make the ledger a preferred blockchain for regional builders. The announcement cites a significant developer base and growing institutional adoption.
Developer Training Reaches Beyond Hackathons
Developer education will combine scalable learning materials with practical opportunities to develop applications and obtain technical assistance. Planned hackathons, events where participants create software projects, will be followed by office hours and development sessions called ship-it clinics scheduled for Asia-Pacific time zones.
Training will also reach system integrators, firms that connect different technologies into working systems, and software development companies through a new SI Partnership Program. Educational resources will cover building applications on a blockchain, a shared digital transaction record. Asia’s concentration of these firms informed the program’s regional focus.
This enterprise focus follows Ripple’s 2024 partnership with Tokyo-based consulting firm Hashkey DX to introduce XRPL-powered supply chain finance solutions in Japan with SBI Ripple Asia, a joint venture with Japanese financial services group SBI Holdings.
XRP Asia Connects XRPL Startups With Partners and Funding
Startups building on XRPL will receive business assistance from XRP Asia alongside its technical programs. The organization plans to help founders navigate infrastructure providers, arrange partner introductions, and connect teams with grants and incubation programs across the broader ecosystem.
That effort builds on a region where Ripple has already established funding channels for ledger development. The Japan and Korea Fund, introduced in June 2024 under Ripple’s broader 1 billion XRP developer commitment, covered grants, startup investments, corporate partnerships, and community activities.
Funding has also been paired with assistance for founders entering the market. In June 2025, Ripple partnered with Web3 Salon, a startup support initiative, offering Japanese XRPL startups up to $200,000 per project over the following year alongside mentorship and investor access.
Regional gatherings provide another connection between founders and companies developing financial applications. XRP Seoul’s expanded program for Oct. 3 included lending, privacy, and tokenization providers. Tokenization represents assets or financial claims through digital tokens. XRP Asia plans to support joint events and showcase founder stories as participating ventures grow.
Relevant investor introductions will form part of that assistance, while updates on XRP Asia’s regional programs will accompany their launch. The organization added: “We welcome ideas and constructive feedback on how XRP Asia can best support XRPL builders and communities across the region.”
